  Fishing

Fish in one of the many lakes or rivers for Northern Pike, Lake Trout, Rainbow Trout, or Speckled Trout. Day trips or overnight trips can be arranged. Although we can’t guarantee you will catch fish we can ensure that you will have a relaxing fishing experience out on the lake.

Salmon Fishing

You won’t believe your eyes when you see this fantastic salmon fishing hole, a fly fisherman’s paradise with bounty. Come and spend a few days fishing for salmon off shore or bring your boat and fish with down riggers in the St. Mary’s River.

   Ice Fishing

Ice Fishing is a popular Canadian winter sport, providing enthusiasts with the challenge of landing a fish through the ice while standing on a frozen lake surrounded by nature. A variety of fish may be caught throughout the winter in our area; from Rainbow Trout, Lake Trout and Perch. Make it a day by starting a fire on shore and fry your catch and keep warm. Perfect for relaxing and a quiet time.

Smelt Fishing

.A unique fishing experience for the whole family, where you dip net during the cover of darkness as the smelt move up river to spawn. Enjoy tales around a campfire and warm up with hot chocolate as you take turns dip netting. The next day enjoy a traditional Canadian smelt fry

  Fly Fishing

The Algoma District has many fly-fishing only creeks and rivers for that avid fly fisherman. Hire a guide to show you these hidden treasures or explore by map on your own. Either way you’re sure to have a great time. Bring your fly-tieing gear and make some new flys at night for the next day

 Canoeing/Kayak

With the abundance of lakes and rivers in the area you won’t have a problem finding a place to drop in a canoe or kayak, whether you are want still or moving water, it’s here. As well, you can make your journey almost any length that you want it to be from an afternoon leisurely paddle to a 5 day journey, it’s up to you.

 Camping

With the vast amounts of crown land in the area you can tuck yourself away in the wilderness or visit one of the provincial parks located along Lake Superior. There is nothing better than that of simplifying life and getting back in touch with the nature around you. We can supply you with your gear or you can pack your own.

 ATV

A relatively new sport and way of seeing the wilderness. Hire a guide or explore on your own the many old logging trails in the area. There are hundreds of kilometers of un-maintained roadways that take you into lakes or high up on the hills, hours of explorations are just out our back door.

 Hiking

If grabbing a day pack or overnight and your walking stick and heading out on foot is your interest, come and explore the woods of Wabos. Find old mining claims, walk beneith the crown of the old growth pine, or follow the edge of water channels. If exploring on your own isn’t what you want then perhaps visit the nearby provincial parks and follow their interpretive trails, while learning of the area around you. All skill levels available.
